Our Background
In 1972, W. Patrick Clarke, the founder of CLS, began his career as a stockbroker on the eve of one of
the worst bear markets in history. Mr. Clarke started his financial career at a time when other stockbrokers
were struggling to survive. In 1975 he helped pioneer the concept of financial planning by organizing and
operating a financial planning firm in Omaha, Nebraska. His goal was to help investors with their financial
goals.
In 1989, Mr. Clarke was the motivating partner in creating the money management firm CLS Investment Firm, LLC (CLS). CLS was founded on the lessons learned by Mr. Clarke as both a financial advisor and an individual
investor. It is because of this experience that CLS can help investors, like you, reach and achieve financial
success.
Now, CLS works with more than 1500 financial advisors to manage their 40,000 individual clients’ portfolios.
